UCA NHSCC 2026: Day 1 National Prelims & Game Day Championship
Day 1: Opening the National Preliminaries
The 2026 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship officially opens its doors at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Today’s focus is on the Preliminary rounds, where the nation's most talented athletes must execute flawless routines to survive the first cut and advance toward the finals.
The morning sessions feature the Large-Scale Varsity divisions. These teams, often boasting up to 30 members, are known for their massive pyramids and high-impact tumbling passes. Every transition is critical, as judges look for perfect synchronization and elite-level difficulty under the bright lights of the State Farm Field House.
In addition to the varsity routines, the Game Day Prelims are in full swing, celebrating the core of cheerleading: leading the crowd. Teams are evaluated on their situational reactions and fight song precision, with only the top scorers moving forward to the championship stage.
